Barristers differ from solicitors as they generally prepare court documents (pleadings) and are usually instructed by solicitors to deal with advocacy in court for a particular case. This does not mean they are exempt from being guilty of professional negligence – far from it. Barristers can be professionally negligent and you can make a claim against them that follows a similar process to that of solicitor negligence.
